Side trip to Basel

After Copenhagen, I hope the President will go to Basel and talk as tough with Switzerland as he did with Iran. It’s about 700 miles.

The Four Pillars

In his address to the UN today, Obama listed four pillars. I was pleased that he matched on three out of four of our Green Party pillars. Unfortunately, Dems often block progress on our Four Pillars, which are the first four of our Ten Key Values.

Addison Graves Wilson

“Joe” Wilson, the Republican U.S. Representative who made the inappropriate outburst, should be referred to by his full name, Addison Graves Wilson, Sr., so as not to confuse him with Joseph Charles Wilson IV, the diplomat and husband of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, and so as not to bring shame and humiliation to others who share the same name.

By the way, I thought Obama’s health care speech to Congress was a wonderful compromise between good and evil. As a fellow Green noted recently, we mustn’t come down squarely on the side of good.

And let’s hope nobody dies because they don’t have citizenship. And let’s hope there are no pandemics.

RULES

Ballots will be counted using IRV. The candidate with the least number of first-choice votes will be eliminated and will come in last. The next candidate to be eliminated will come in next-to-last, and so on. Ties will remain as ties. The elimination process will continue regardless of whether a candidate has reached 50 percent, until all candidates have an order of placement.

“None of the above” will be an option in each race. It will be treated the same as any other candidate for purposes of this straw poll.
