Obama in MN, what about WI?

Obama will be here in Golden Valley Friday to speak at a weapons company. He'd better visit neighboring Wisconsin before the recall election Tuesday. That's a hell of a lot more important, isn't it?

Obama on Mother's Day

When most people think about Obama, they think about Michelle, Malia, and Sasha, and they like him. But Barack Obama is a complex individual, and to stay in power, he needs to deal with powerful forces, some of which are not so nice, like Wall Street, and the Military Industrial Complex. He may inch toward progress on issues like health care and same-sex marriage, but it's all focus group tested and just enough to keep you hanging on while so many other problems fester. It may be the perverse "realpolitik" but I will not be the direct voting cause of it. And so I will march today for Roseanne Barr.

Dayton's stadium

Mark Dayton is ready to sign a stadium bill. In 2010 we tried to warn voters about the DFL. In this ad, Farheen said she would put people before stadiums. http://youtu.be/ln9NHyeKKHo

BDS deal breaker for Stein

On the 5CD Green Party Facebook page, I asked if Jill Stein supports boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights. According to Sarah Younus, "Stein has stayed silent, and has been questioned several times, through emails and publicly." As I recall, Richard Klatte was cruising to the GPMN 2010 gubernatorial nomination until he referred to Israel as an ally of the United States. It seems this is a serious blocking concern to the Stein campaign, and I wouldn't be surprised if she loses all support immediately in MN. If Stein does win, I'm afraid the real reason will be stuffiness. What Klatte and Barr have in common is they are both comic TV personalities, which doesn't fit the rigid preconceptions of some Greens. The real irony is these Greens think they are putting substance before style, when the BDS issue proves they are putting style before substance.
