This 2010 ad also mentions gay marriage, an issue in the news yesterday with Obama's stance change. Roseanne Barr, Jill Stein and other Green Party candidates have been raising the issue for a long time. I remember Jay Pond making it a major issue when he ran for congress here in 2006.
Stadium apologists say you won't spend a penny for the stadium unless you buy a football ticket or a pull tab. This is true unless you live in Minneapolis, where you pay four sales taxes that the city currently imposes in order to pay for the convention center bonding and funds. You will just have to pay these taxes through 2049 instead of having them sunset in 2020. You will also incur $675 million in bonding that may have negative consequences in completing your capital investment program.
