SD42 off-year convention

Today was our SD42 off-year convention. I ran for State Central Committee delegate and came in last, but I won the coin toss, so I am third alternate. I spoke about how I preferred Mike Lindell or Harmeet Dhillon over Ronna McDaniel for RNC chair. The SCC elects the people who elect the RNC chair.

To my surprise, National Committeewoman Barb Sutter was in attendance, and found me afterward. She is one of the people I wanted to oust. She said she received more emails than she could respond to, but she said she would send me an email she had sent out in defense of Ronna McDaniel. One example, sometimes bus services are dubbed as limousine services. I will wait for the email and try to keep an open mind. I noted how Charlie Kirk was lobbying for Harmeet Dhillon and was surprised that Trump allies or surrogates were supporting McDaniel. Trump himself remained neutral during the RNC chair contest. Barb noted that two of Dhillon’s allies were elected to the national executive committee, so there will be more balance going forward. Also, Barb said that she herself is MAGA.

Before the convention, I contacted Mike Lindell‘s Frank Social to try to network with them, and while I did hear back from them, there was no follow up, so I take it there is no organized ground game.

All of this is in preparation for future election cycles, so we have time to reassess the political landscape as it changes.
