Whip Congress for a public option
I don’t normally do action alerts, but this one might have a chance:

And of course single payer is even better than a public option:

I’m still not sure if the current bill is a step in the right direction overall. If it saves lives, then I guess I would have to vote for it. But I’m also worried about hidden sellouts that could lose lives down the road.
Here’s what I wrote about it in January:

MUHCC is pushing to allow states to have single payer:

At best, whatever passes will only be a small taste of what is possible, and we must all mobilize to improve it IMMEDIATELY! Single Payer! Medicare for All!
Hi Tom,
According to MUHCC (Minnesota Universal Health Care Coalition) which the Green Party is a member of the coalition, the Health Care plan put forward by President Obama does not allow states to design their own health care policy until 2017.
Having to wait until 2017 for Minnesota to create their own single payer health care is a deal breaker for me.
I do not support President Obama's health care plan. It is a give away to the insurance corporations, and does nothing to control costs or provide health care at affordable prices for working people.
