Poor English with the English
In his joint appearance with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the President uttered what sounded like another Bushism:
"I think it is fair to say that I believe we've got a great chance to establish a Palestinian state," Bush said. "And I intend to use the next four years to spend the capital of the United States on such a state."
Is he sure he doesn’t mean the "capitol" of the United States, Washington, D.C.? The U.S. debt is already approaching $7.5 trillion, and this could be one way to pay it down. Then again, I thought the capitol was already bought and paid for.

Man, he's really trying to get some mileage off that line, isn't he?
It's really disgusting to me how he uses business language to describe politics. It's clear that politics means big business to these people, plain and simple.
Yes, and one theory is that he makes these mistakes on purpose, perhaps to defy his dad, or maybe he took a page from the Ventura playbook. To me this most recent Bushism sounds less accidental, because the typical usage of the expression is that the President spends his own political capital, not that of the country, if there is such a thing.
Bush is no more Texan than he is christian. It's all an act. Except for the Bushisms. That's cause he is dyslexic and memorizes his cue cards wrong.
Yes, and isn’t he the only one in his family with a Southern accent?
