Cut and Run

The common wisdom seems to be that we can’t "cut and run" from Iraq. Why not? How can the situation there get any worse than it already is? Massacres, you say? A return to oppression?

Here’s what I propose (I’m not speaking for Nader here): 1) Extract Hussein and send him to the Hague. 2) Withdraw our ground troops. 3) Divide the country into three parts, Kurdistan, Sunnistan, and Shiistan. 4) Make friends among freedom-loving people to gather intelligence. 5) Bomb any forces that try to attack, massacre, or oppress.

The real reason we can’t "cut and run" is because we need the oil for our SUV’s. Heaven help us.

Gee, this sounds an awful lot like Yugoslavia to me. Sure didn't help that part of the world.

At least we didn’t have any combat casualties, and Slobodan Milosevic is out of power. That’s one of the few good things I have to say about Clinton, the others being that he cut the deficit and prevented the Millennium Attacks. It’s true that organized crime has returned to Yugoslavia, and their good president Vojislav Kostunica was assassinated. Maybe we could do more there, but I don’t think it’s any worse than Iraq is right now.

I'm not sure which plan is better, but if I were President, I'd be finding out what the United Nations wants the US to do (with no consideration to what the US delegates on the the Security Council want.)

Because it's time that as members of the human race that we start working with the world, rather than doing whatever we feel like might be purely in our best interests.

We caused this mess, so if anyone pays for it, it should be the US. That's called responsibility. If the world community thinks the best way to save lives is to get out, then we get out. If the world community thinks that the best way to save lives is stay, then we stay.

And we bloody well send Bush's daughters to fight if we stay !!!

In terms of recruiting the Bush daughters to fight, that could be part of the "Leave No Elite Behind (When They Could Serving) Act of 2005."
