Obama’s choices of Gates and Volcker continue to show his preference for insiders with experience. I did like his quote, "Change is my job," and it will be interesting to see if he does it. I don’t think Obama can claim ignorance now if there are any problems. He may find himself surrounded by people he can’t trust. Are they really hired mercenaries who can change allegiance that easily?
I have long asserted that Republicans and Democrats are in collusion, and that is one of the main reasons I’m a Green. Together, the corporate parties are a powerful team, and I suppose that power can be used for good or bad.
The recent attacks in Mumbai reminded me of Carter’s hostage crisis. Can we expect more attacks; perhaps false flag operations designed to disrupt the Obama administration, or to distract the public? CNN says they still don’t know the motive. I thought it was interesting some of the targets were bankers. I know I’ve been criticizing bankers a lot lately, but I don’t condone terrorism.

Here's some recent correspondence from cousin John in response to another cousin qua Clinton apologist:
...clinton did have a smaller war and spend less money than LBJ...and he was better looking too, but kind of a small increment up when you consider he gave away all our jobs to banana republics, pigmentocracies, and dictatorships without demanding any environmental or labor standards which has not be redressed, did nothing for 8 years about climate change, failed in 8 years to force the Israelis into accepting a viable two state solution that is still pissing off a billion muslims around the planet, and abolished banking regulations in '95 in place since '36 which had kept the banking industry sane.
So is Obombma going to carry out his campaign pledge to bomb Pakistan and up the war in Afghanistan and piss off a million waziritanis for another 'land war in asia'? Is he going to continue kissing the butt of the Israeli's to maintain his viability for re-election--while they nuke iran, keep Gaza as a prison camp--and an international war crime of punishing a civilian population, and continue grabbing palestinian land--as well as jerusalem?
Is he ever going to hire more kennedys and fewer Clintons? Is he going to do a marshall plan or a failed great society? Is he going to be the JFK cold warrior or the one in '62 who realized "Holy shit, all the generals want a first strike against the USSR!"
Or is he just going to be the obsequious young man listening to conventional wisdom and his wall street/Fed treasury secretary with an eye on re-election who is there to manage disaster and not change it--not nationalize the federal reserve, not really create a green economy, not really bail out bad mortgages..and not really threaten the israeili's with war crime tribunals if they bomb Iran...just another democon blamed for 'big government'...setting the table for the next draconian conservative to complete the transition of this country into a banana republic to make the world safe for big corporations.
we will see, ... if things ever change...but so far nobody is using his initials BHO like JFK or FDR...but there is always hope I grant you popping out in the most unexpected places..be well..John
