Youth Against War and Racism

I had a good time yesterday campaigning with Michael Cavlan. We attended the student walkout sponsored by Youth Against War and Racism. It was held at the University of Minnesota. We chanted, "1,2,3,4, we don’t want your racist war" and "Who is a terrorist? Bush is a terrorist!" Some girls got arrested after somebody poured red paint on the military recruiter’s office, but I think the cops might have got the smearers instead of the pourers. The organizers had us all sit down so the situation wouldn’t escalate.

As we worked the crowd, I told the students that Michael wants immediate troop pullout from Iraq, unlike Amy Klobuchar. Michael also wants single payer health care, which you can think of as Medicare for everybody. Again, Klobuchar is not calling for it.

Later I attended a fundraiser for Michael at the Black Dog Café. The special guest was Duluth professor Jim Fetzer, editor of http://www.assassinationscience.com/, who will also be the voice in Michael’s new radio ads. The campaign raised over $700, putting it well on its way to airtime on Air America.

I also visited with a guy named Randy who asked if ethanol can be used to make plastics. Good question. Let me know if you have any answers on this.
