Use sock to stop oil spill

Why can’t they use plastic or rubber sheets to contain the oil? Anchor a sheet to the ocean floor in a perimeter around the leak. Work around the outside and then attach the ends together to form an open-ended cylinder. Then, use a drawstring around the top of the sheet to secure it to a wide hose which leads to tankers on the surface. Then ship it to a reservoir and go back for another load.

Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow reported that they need an army of workers to deploy booms to guard the coast. People are willing to help, but they are not being put to work. If true, the blame for this part of the battle can be laid squarely on the Obama administration.

What is the problem? Are they trying to kill us? Are they trying to scare the shit out of us to build popular support for energy reform? Is the Deepwater Horizon to energy reform as 9/11 was to the Gulf War? Is that what it takes? Are world leaders possessed by some sort of perverse yin-yang mentality?

Another idea is to save each of the species to aquariums, so they can try to repopulate the Gulf after this catastrophe subsides.

I hope they have an armada of ships doing the vacuuming and skimming. They can also be using hay and hair, as well as biogreenclean.

Heaven help us. If left unchecked, could this affect our oxygen levels?

Perhaps the movie "Avatar" is to the BP oil disaster as the movie "Pearl Harbor" was to 9/11.
